Autumn Northern Lights Watch

Malangen Resort is in one of the best Northern Lights hotspots in the Tromsø area. The “watch” gives our guests the opportunity to see the mysterious Northern Lights. We start our magical journey with a briefing about the natural phenomenon and the prevailing Northern Lights conditions before we set off to our very own base camp, Camp Nikka, which is just a 20-minute walk from the resort.

Camp Nikka is strategically located near the resort beside a small lake in an area without light pollution. Please note that our Northern Lights Watch does not include hunting the Northern Lights hunting by minibus or similar. We have instead chosen to provide a basecamp experience so our guests can see the Northern Lights combined with comfort and relaxation around the fire in our cosy outside lavvu while enjoying a light snack and hot drink.

You will also get the opportunity to learn more about the Northern Lights through games organised in our inside lavvu.

Taking into account that this activity happens during the evening and part of the night, the recommended minimum age limit is 7.

– Warm underwear (wool or fleece is recommended), tripod and camera.
